The Levis 501 is characterized by a straight fit and a hip-length rise. These comfortable jeans feature a concealed button fly. They are designed as five-pocket jeans, with embossed rivets and buttons. Typical of Levis is the logo on the leather patch on the back waistband. The trademark stitching stands out thanks to its golden yellow seams.

In 1853, Levi Strauss, an immigrant from Bavaria, opened a dry goods store in San Francisco. It was the Gold Rush era. He quickly realized what hardworking people needed: clothing that could withstand anything. He and tailor Jacob Davis combined copper rivet reinforcements with sturdy denim and produced the first "waist overalls" in 1873.

Levi's and LEVI'S Tab.

In the early 1970s, the capital "LEVI'S" became "Levi's" with a lowercase "e." The difference in the "E" became a trademark among collectors of vintage jeans. Its evolution made it a sign of the times for collectors and fans of the brand around the world.

To protect the company's exclusive rights to market apparel with the tab, Levi's must produce a certain percentage of items with a blank tab and only the (R) symbol to show that Levi's owns the rights to the tab itself, not just the Levi's brand.
